Our Mission…
is to provide high quality and affordable theatrical design and production services to the Greater Roanoke region (and beyond), thereby contributing to the overall health and growth of the local arts community. We are equally dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of theatre artists in design and technical theatre production through classes, workshops, and internships.

What We Do…
We create interesting and dynamic scenic design solutions in collaboration with directors and project/event planners for theatrical productions, exhibits, or other special events as needed by various organizations.

Our Services Include… 

  • Design consultations, research, planning, rendering, and drafting in preparation for production
  • Coordination of local resources of stock scenery, eliminating redundancies of resources and expenses
  • Construction of designs, including detail/finish work (wood, steel, foam, fabrics)
  • Painting of scenic units, backdrops, or other displays
  • Load-in to and load-out of spaces, including all assembly to make functional for event/production
  • Props construction and/or acquisition
  • Lighting design for theatrical productions or other events as needed by various organizations
  • Supervision of lighting rental package order and installation (hang and focus) for designed events/productions
  • Production management services, including management of budget, hiring of running crew, and other services as needed, determined on a per production basis
  • Workshops, classes, and internships for area schools or other groups on topics related to design and production

Our Qualifications…

  • 9 seasons as Resident Designer at Mill Mountain Theatre.  This included designs of scenery, lighting, costumes, scenic painting, finish carpentry, set dressing, production budget management, materials purchasing, scheduling, hiring of designers, staff, interns, supervision of interns, and other responsibilities related to design and production as needed.
  • Successful completion of numerous freelance designs, including paint, production, and management elements
  • Years of adjunct teaching credits from area universities covering topics ranging from design and crafts to analysis and appreciation
  • MFA in Scenography from University of North Carolina at Greensboro
  • BS in Theatre from Radford University
  • Design partner/business manager with similar professional and educational background and experience, offering consultation on design, painting, and educational offerings, as well as active participation in creative processes.
